Thomas Mayfried

Since 1999, Thomas Mayfried (*1966) has been running his studio for visual communication in Munich, occasionally also in Paris (2011–2014). The focus is on cooperations with artists, architects and cultural institutions. For example, from 2003 to 2011 he directed the visual identity of Haus der Kunst, Munich. In 2010, he was invited to present an exhibition there that showed cross connections between photography, conceptual art and graphic design. Since 2009 he is co-publisher of the mini-imprint «Institutions». At the Academy of Fine Arts Nuremberg, from 2011 to 2014 Mayfried held a deputy professorship for graphic design, and in the summer semester of 2015 he was a visiting professor in the MA course «Architecture and Urban Research». As of October 2016, Thomas Mayfried has been appointed as a contract professor and project leader for visual communication within the BA Major in Design at the Faculty of Design and Art of the Free University of Bolzano.
