WUP ART Project
The WUP Art programme is an interdisciplinary course integrating practice, theory, visual communication, and video to introduce students to contemporary art methodologies, strategies, and media. Students explore artistic creations from the 20th and 21st centuries via transmedia assignments, critical readings, expert talks, and collective critical engagement, enabling them to acquire the abilities, theoretical knowledge, and cultural awareness necessary to create and contextualize art. The pedagogical approach adopted emphasised the process of individual
freedom in the generation of ideas and the practice of self-reflection, with the objective of stimulating questions. The overarching ambition of this pedagogical approach was to nurture autonomy, whilst concurrently providing the necessary support to facilitate the exploration of students’ own artistic voice, particularly at the outset of their educational journey.
