why illumination is so important?

AURELIA – To illuminate the necessary.

Federica Kozma

Design and illumination are two interconnected elements that play a vital role in shaping our environment and experiences.

Design features the arrangement of elements, such as form, function, and aesthetics, to create spaces, products, or experiences.

Illumination, on the other hand, involves the intentional use of light to enhance visual perception, evoke emotions, and define spatial characteristics.
The strategic application of lighting techniques and technologies can transform the perception of design elements and alter the ambience of a given space.

Introducing Aurelia, the outdoor lamp, a polydirectional lighting solution crafted to provide comprehensive illumination. This lamp is specifically designed to effectively illuminate essential elements within a space, particularly entrances that are often neglected, resulting in dimly lit areas lacking character.

The unique shape of Aurelia not only serves as a functional light source but also as a statement piece that adds personality to modern house entrances. Drawing inspiration from lanterns used in the 19th century, this lamp complements contemporary settings while paying homage to the past and embracing history.

To summarize, Aurelia exemplifies an integration of design and illumination. Through its comprehensive and visually captivating lighting, it not only enhances the functionality of spaces but also adds a specific aesthetic appeal.

Light at Doors and Gates

Illuminating the Entrance. The entrance of a building serves as its business card. At night, door areas with good illumination appear particularly inviting, convey security and orientation as well as reflect the design consciousness of the property owners. Glare-free lighting and appropriate illumination of the functional areas highlighting the architectural transition zones play a role which is just as important as the position and orientation of the outdoor lights or the luminous intensity and colour of the light sources.
