How can a lamp emphasize an entrance?

Circles walls

Arthur Paul Ottmann

“Circles walls” is designed to illuminate entrances in a special way, with the following aspects standing out in particular. Basically, simplicity in design and function is pursued, and the lamp has an unobtrusive presence by day and by night. In illuminated mode, “Circles walls“ appears an attractive glow on the façade due to the hidden light source. The illuminated area has a semicircular shape and is cut off at the top. This gives the entrance a special emphasis and creates a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The shadow to the top makes less light escape towards the top in order to minimize the contribution on light pollution. The design follows the approach of keeping the object simple regarding the structure and the technical components.

At the same time, “Circles walls” ensures that the functional components of the entrance, such as the bell plate and keyhole, are sufficiently illuminated. It is appliable in various entrance situations with flat facades, the lamp is attachable either on the side or on the top of the door frame, depending on the structure of the door‘s components.

Light at Doors and Gates

Illuminating the Entrance. The entrance of a building serves as its business card. At night, door areas with good illumination appear particularly inviting, convey security and orientation as well as reflect the design consciousness of the property owners. Glare-free lighting and appropriate illumination of the functional areas highlighting the architectural transition zones play a role which is just as important as the position and orientation of the outdoor lights or the luminous intensity and colour of the light sources.
