Will it ever be possible to fully experience your true self in this world?

Drag It Out – documentary short film

Ana Cecilia Bautista Diaz Mercado

Drag It Out potrays an insight to the activity of Jeampoul (Gonzalez) Rupool; drag artist, dancer and performer originally from Cali (Colombia) and depicts, throughout an intimate narration, the reason behind his artistic career, the cause of his displacement to Bolzano and the motivations to be himself every single day. Apart from being an incredibly talented person and a handyman, Jeampoul sensitizes us on the immense impact which acceptance, respect and humanity have on marginalized communitites, and stresses, from personal experience and trauma, on the importance of becoming better, kinder and more empathetic humans, in order to live and let those who are different from us live to the fullest.
