FOLD+

FOLD+ is a wireless rechargeable table lamp designed for the restaurant industry. It stems from the concept of using the lamp in a functional way by not only reducing it to pure light, but also using it as an energy source to recharge electronic devices. The product in this way acts as a bridge between the most advanced technology and the traditional practice of metal bending. The lamp is born from a single laser-cut iron sheet, bent and glued to an iron tube. The search for the shape was studied in detail following certain characteristics such as: the ideal height and diffusion of light in relation to the user, the structure of the base that supports electronic devices, the switching on, the possibility of picking up the product from different spots, and the material used. Its clean and essential design makes it suitable for any indoor or outdoor environment.

A project made in the course

ATELIERprojekte

ATELIERprojekte is conceived as a design experience, aimed at refining and testing technique, creativity, personal organization, research, and communication. After the study of diverse typologies of product and companies, each student freely chose a personal project to work with, consisting in an object to develop, also imagining its potential producer. The path is completed by a rich formation in digital modelling and a theoretical deepening of communicative issues touched by the project itself.
