Do you ever consider darkness?

Light Rain

Elena Pandini

Have you ever paid attention to how the entrance of your home is lit up? A design product can work well if invisible, but invisible does not mean ignored.

Entering your house becomes an everyday action. So why not light it up as well as possible?
Traditional lamps are too bright and wasteful. They also don’t respect the dark, that with this project becomes part of the atmosphere of an entrance. We often don’t consider it, but different lighting systems can in fact change our perception.

Light Rain is supposed to create an uniform light directed to the door. Since its modularity, it can cover every length of roof, simulating a light water curtain to walk through.

We usually don’t like to get wet with rain, so I decided to turn this concept around and force you to do it, metaforically.

Light at Doors and Gates

Illuminating the Entrance. The entrance of a building serves as its business card. At night, door areas with good illumination appear particularly inviting, convey security and orientation as well as reflect the design consciousness of the property owners. Glare-free lighting and appropriate illumination of the functional areas highlighting the architectural transition zones play a role which is just as important as the position and orientation of the outdoor lights or the luminous intensity and colour of the light sources.
