Negative Pressure
Dario Lantschner
Human beings took several advantages out of various natural phenomena. Without physics, our everyday life would look undoubtedly different than it does now. Negative pressure is one example, and we can find it, even when most of the time hidden, in various situations. What if this phenomenon is transmitted diversely and fascinatingly, so people also see it and even be part of it? This work should therefore explore the possibilities around negative pressure creatively. Developing an object with a specific function but still represents the invisible truth of pressure difference is part of it.
Consequently, the user and viewer is part of the whole process as they need to learn and discover. The designed product should not just represent the phenomena but also set a confident statement towards the observer. As the focus will lay on the opposite of air-filled structures, the question will also be to find suitable materials. Furthermore, a method needs to be developed that leads to a visually appealing and exciting product.
