Where is the limit of DIY

Degree Project

Open Workshop

Filippo Tapparo

The aim of the project is to create a series of DIY machines to give everyone the chance to set up their own workshop and to produce their products. In the last few years, thanks to the spread of technologies such as Rapid Prototyping (3D printers) and CNCs (Computer Numerical Controlled) machines, the maker community has grown considerably and with it there is a greater tendency to self-produce objects instead of buying them.
This is why I decided to start this project: with more tools and machines it is possible to design and produce more complex objects. Starting from a technology that nowadays is very common such as the 3D printer, you can create an impressive number of tools and by combining 3D printing with other processes the possibilities are endless.
The project targets young designers, artisans or producers, giving them the chance to start prototyping or produce their most demanding projects.
