Definition of the term adaptation:

The process of change by which an organism or species becomes better suited to its environment.

The action or process of adapting or being adapted.

Our life is daily determined by different devices. These little masterminds mean everything to us – We need them! We can no longer imagine life without them. They suggest to us what we have to do to achieve a goal. We have access to any information and our brains are flooded with stimuli.
This performative piece, amplifies that flood. The artist forces the viewer to participate and becomes a tool of his own smartphone. Through the instructions of the performer, the guests are asked to repeat what she asks them to do. By reading the news and the weather aloud, or playing their favourite song out loud, a kind of orchestral piece is created with a prelude, climax and conclusion.
The darkness denotes the virtual space in which we find ourselves. Use the instruction leaflet to repeat this exercise at home. Always follow the instructions and the adaptation will succeed.
