Vì e il riflesso perduto

Giulia Pezzin

With the project “Lagunando”, we’ve entered the Venetian lagoon, collecting a multiplicity of testimonies, forgotten stories, hidden details. This material has been re-arranged by each student into a “microhistory”, to narrate some aspects of the precarious balance of the Venetian lagoon. These stories became the narrative structure for a series of children books.

“Vì e il riflesso perduto” is the result of this process. The book talks about Vì, a young girl in search of the reflection of Venice, the city where she lives, that was suddenly stolen one day. As Vì wanders around the city, she relates to its inhabitants, animals and places in a fantastic journey. The drawings, made with markers and colored pencils, were developed in order to attract an audience between 6 and 12 years old.
