FLAT
Maximilian Quick
FLAT is a light that explores how much volume light really needs — without disappearing.
By reducing depth while exposing its construction, the lamp draws attention through its flat presence and visible structure. Integrated cable channels and layered elements turn technical necessities into visual features, making the light both functional and expressive.
Rather than being designed for a single position, FLAT is intentionally versatile. It can be placed on a surface, mounted on a wall, or suspended from the ceiling, adapting to different spatial situations and uses. This openness allows the lamp to shift between object, installation, and everyday tool.
A simple rotary control enables intuitive dimming and encourages a conscious interaction with light. While its volume is minimized, FLAT does not aim to disappear — it remains visually engaging and spatially active.
The project questions the relationship between volume, visibility, and function, and investigates how reducing physical mass can create new possibilities for use, placement, and perception.

However, he must have clear ideas and first of all identify his fields of interest and the sector in which he wishes to enter and then which companies he would like to collaborate with. He needs to develop a particular sensitivity to understand the different philosophies of the companies he is considering and to perceive the "gaps" within the existing collections.
