How do three generations tell the same story?

Heimatlos! - Fritz

Berrit Nadja Schindler

Why did I never ask?

My grandfather (Fritz) fled from Pomerania when he was eight years old. 70 years later, he wrote down his memories and told a true and cruel story. While my mother (Heike) still had the opportunity to talk to him about the past, for a long time I was too young to talk to him about it. The project is not only about his story, but also about the transgenerational reaction of daughter and granddaughter (Berrit) to it.

The project consists of three books that provide details and emotions. Contained in a box they tell three unique story.

Stories

We live in a world overwhelmed by content, often generated by artificial intelligence algorithms, and this constant information overload forces us to make a necessary choice: we must discard the superfluous and select only what truly interests and matters to us—stories!

Whether they are small or global, intimate or collective, funny or serious, stories tell us about the people and society we live in. They define us, recounting what has been and what we need today.
