Do you love your old shoes?

Degree Project

RE-GAZELLE

Ismaele Gregori

Sometimes, we don’t want to throw things away. Shoes are a unique object, balancing functionality and fashion. The Gazelle, in particular, is a model with a history spanning five decades.

In my thesis project, I explored the potential "retirement" of a beloved pair of Gazelle. Working together with a cobbler, I developed a system that allows them to transform an old pair of Gazelle into comfortable slippers. These can be worn mainly at home or for short outings, and users can personalize the color.

The goal is to extend the emotional connection between the object and its owner while highlighting the craftsmanship of cobblers and demonstrating the relevance of this traditional trade in today’s world.
