2023/24 WS Parental leave in Italy
This project aims to illustrate the inequality of maternity and paternity leave in Italy by visualizing the impact on a child's development focussing on the "traditional" family model.
The poster displays the actual law in Italy as well as the real usage of allowed leave. A playful mobile - a typical decor or toy for children's rooms serves as metaphor visualizing the data as object. The branch serves as a scale that turns either to the father's side on the left or to the mother's side on the right. This depends on the amount of months that the parent can take symbolized through petals.
The petals of the flower representing the child also symbolize stronger growth towards the person who can spend more time with it.

Information Design & Visual Storytelling
In a world heavily driven by the production and consumption of information, being able to read and represent it has become extremely critical and undeniably important. The Information Design and Visual Storytelling course aims to provide students with the theoretical background - and the opportunity to practice it - necessary to develop visualization projects in their entirety. The first part of the course will consist of lectures interspersed with small exercises to make students familiarize with the disciplines of information design and visual storytelling. We will work together to understand the basic principles of the discipline and how to apply them in real projects.
