Do you want to join a cuddle party?

Tocca a Te

Stella Winona Brandlhuber

Cuddle parties serve a unique purpose in fostering platonic touch and human connection in a safe, consensual environment. Participants gather to experience the comforting embrace of others without any romantic expectations. These events aim to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and enhance emotional well-being through physical touch, such as cuddling and hugging. Despite their positive intentions, cuddle parties often face skepticism or misconceptions due to their departure from traditional social norms around touch and intimacy. Furthermore, the current visual communication of cuddle parties, such as posters and websites, often fails to provide an authentic representation, contributing to the misunderstanding of the concept.

Throughout the project Make It Matter™, the Cuddle Party Bolzano Knuddeln Ködeln, now renamed Tocca a Te, has gained a clearer representation of the cuddle party and its purpose. The new visual identity also enables Tocca a Te to grow and establish itself as a community advocating for the benefits of physical touch. We, as Tocca a Te, want to desexualize and destigmatize intimacy.
Tocca a Te is now provided a collection of visual materials for flyers and posters, along with a blanket for the final group cuddle and a variety of scarves. These scarves feature the Tocca a Te manifesto and serve as an external symbol of the cuddle party, reinforcing the internalization of the values into everyday life.

Make It Better

Design can make things better. In this project, students are re-imagining identity designs for institutions, companies, places, and individuals. Discussing past and current influences, and exploring cutting-edge tech in interactive workshops, students develop a critical understanding of visual identity design, emphasising practical experience, iterative thinking, and fun.
