Is there still an empty space in our homes?

Linie

Maddalena Sartori

Linie is a shelf, a basket, a container; inspired by a journey into Tyrolean Folk Craft museums. It is a multifunctional hanging object made of ash wooden pieces interwoven with a single 4mm-wide elastic rope. It allows you to keep your rooms tidy in a fun way. Thanks to the rope you can easily grab the stuff inside directly from the bottom.

LAZY SUNDAY

Lazy Sunday is a two-in- one wooden tray, inspired by
the Schafkluppe: an old tool used to lock sheep’s legs during the shearing process. It is great for both having a cup of coffee together with your friends or serving your loved ones a good breakfast in bed. Its simple rotat- ing system allows you to switch from one function to the other with a wrist movement.

A project made in the course

As Found. Design Inspiration from Regional Folk Craft Museums.

Human history can be found in the things we have made and used. We furnish our world with everyday objects, works of art and ritual artefacts. Many of these things seem to have a story of their own, and some even have a career that has brought them to the museum. Taken out of time and context, they can now be found and discovered in glass cabinets.
