Is it a coffe table, a bedside table or a stool?

Teibolino & Slidey

Sonja Sieder

Teibolino is a coffee table made of ash wood. Its shape is inspired by a peening bench, a tool that was widespread in the Tyrolean area, it was used to strengthen the blade of the scythe. What makes Teibolino unique is the way it’s assembled. It doesn’t need any screws or glue, the only thing you have to do is wedge the table legs with the top.

Slidey is a cutting board inspired by a portable sluice gate, which was used to regulate the water flow. Slidey consists of one big cutting surface and other two smaller that lift the upper part to create two other surfaces for cutting or laying stuff, they also work as handles to move the cutting board transforming it in a tray.

As Found. Design Inspiration from Regional Folk Craft Museums.

Human history can be found in the things we have made and used. We furnish our world with everyday objects, works of art and ritual artefacts. Many of these things seem to have a story of their own, and some even have a career that has brought them to the museum. Taken out of time and context, they can now be found and discovered in glass cabinets.
