Mantenere le diversità che caratterizzano un determinato luogo è di fondamentale importanza per preservare le usanze e le tradizioni tramandate nel tempo. Questo argomento mi è caro in quanto provengo dalla Val di Fassa, dove è presente una minoranza linguistica, i ladini, ricca di usanze, tradizioni, arte e creatività. Lo scopo di questo lavoro è quello di riproporre l’usanza del donare mobili prodotti artigianalmente, come accadeva un tempo in Val di Fassa in occasione del matrimonio o della nascita di un figlio. Il progetto, dunque, prende ispirazione da funzione e simbologie dei mobili antichi riproponendo un nuovo manufatto. L’analisi dei mobili fondata su una ricerca empirica, documentaria e storica, è stata molto utile per comprendere appieno questi oggetti. Il prodotto finale è un piccolo scrigno in legno di cirmolo intagliato con simboli beneauguranti. La dimensione quadrata dell’oggetto conferisce ad esso un senso di stabilità e semplicità. Dal punto di vista costruttivo, al fine di mantenere la pulizia delle linee, ogni taglio è a 45°, compreso il coperchio che chiude la scatola senza l’uso di cerniere; internamente è composta da un doppio fondo segreto e due vasche con divisori interni. Lo scrigno diventa un’oggetto da regalare in occasioni importanti per contenere ricordi e piccoli oggetti preziosi, divenendo esso stesso prezioso, raffinato ed elegante.

Die Vielfalt, welche einen bestimmten Ort charakterisiert, ist von größter Wichtigkeit um die von Generationen überlieferten Bräuche und Traditionen zu bewahren. Dieses Thema liegt mir am Herzen, da ich aus dem Fassatal komme, wo es die sprachliche Minderheit der Ladiner gibt, welche reich an Bräuchen, Traditionen, Kunst und Kreativität ist. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, den Brauch des Schenkens von handgefertigten Möbeln, wie er früher im Fassatal anlässlich einer Hochzeit oder der Geburt eines Kindes üblich war, neu zu beleben. Die Inspiration des Projekts stammt von den Funktionen und der Symbolik antiker Möbel, was folglich in die Umwandlung eines neuen Artefakts einfließt. Die Analyse der Möbel auf der Grundlage empirischer, dokumentarischer und historischer Recherchen war sehr hilfreich, um diese Objekte vollständig zu verstehen. Das Endprodukt ist eine kleine Schatulle aus Kiefernholz, die mit glücksverheißenden Symbolen beschnitzt ist. Die quadratische Größe des Objekts verleiht ihm ein Gefühl von Stabilität und Schlichtheit. Um klare Linien zu erhalten, ist jeder Schnitt im 45°-Winkel ausgeführt, auch der Deckel, welcher die Schatulle ohne die Nutzung von Scharnieren verschließt; das Innere besteht aus einem geheimen doppelten Boden und zwei eingelassenen Abteilen mit inneren Trennwänden. Die Schatulle wird zu einem Objekt, das zu wichtigen Anlässen verschenkt wird, um Erinnerungen und kleine Kostbarkeiten aufzubewahren. Sie wird selbst zu einem kostbaren, raffinierten und eleganten Gegenstand.

Maintaining the diversity that characterizes a certain place is of fundamental importance to preserve the customs and traditions handed down over time. This topic is dear to me as I come from Fassa Valley, where there is a linguistic minority, the Ladins, rich in customs, traditions, art and creativity. The purpose of this work is to reintroduce the custom of donating handcrafted furniture, as was once the case in Fassa Valley on the occasion of a wedding or the birth of a child. Therefore, the project, takes inspiration from the function and symbolism of antique furniture by repurposing a new artifact. The analysis of the furniture based on empirical, documentary and historical research was very helpful to be able to fully understand these objects. The final product is a small pine wood casket carved with auspicious symbols. The square size of the object gives it a sense of stability and simplicity. In terms of construction, in order to maintain clean lines, each cut is at 45°, including the lid that closes the box without the use of hinges; internally it consists of a secret double bottom and two organizers with internal dividers. The casket becomes an object to be given as a gift on important occasions to hold memories and small precious objects, becoming itself precious, refined and elegant.
