Could Butoh serve as a global language to foster dialogue between cultures?

Dance Beyond Form - Water leather bags are waling in space.

Isabel Solveigh Artschwager

"Dance Beyond Form" explores Butoh—a Japanese avant-garde performance dance theater form that spread worldwide in the 1960s—as a universal language to foster intercultural dialogue.
Through this work, I reflect on whether the primal movement expressions of Butoh can mirror universal human emotions and experiences, and whether it can contribute to strengthening social bonds and deepening understanding between different cultures.
