How to introduce women in STEAM to an 11 year old?

HerIDeas is an application designed to introduce significant women in STEAM through interactive learning.

You earn ID cards of these women by engaging with their avatars in the app.

Through game-based play, you gradually learn about each woman’s contributions. Upon completing the games, the woman’s card is revealed, which can then be used to play a card game with classmates. The more cards you collect, the better you perform in the game.

We aim to encourage children and young adults to engage deeply with educational content, countering the short attention spans fostered by social media.

The app ensures that students absorb information through active participation, providing teachers with assurance that students have engaged with the subject matter. While primarily designed for educational environments, we aim to inspire students to continue their learning journey independently after school hours.

Her-stories. Women of the Digital Design History

The exam project addresses digital as an interactive tool, within a communicative ecosystem, to create meaningful transmedia experiences and relationships between a not-yet-told story and people. The digital design field, in fact, has a relatively short story, but a very high impact on our lifes and daily experience. Nevertheless the epic of Silicon Valley has always been narrated with a rather limited point of view. Aim of the project is to conceive, design and prototype a digital interactive responsive web site to tell the stories of women – the life, works and contribution – in the broader context of the evolution of the recent history at the intersection of design and information technologies.
